The Best Laid Plans...

On Sunday, I resolved to have a positive attitude in the following week.

On Monday, I didn't read the crazy large fine print on an Ebay auction and ended up buying something I didn't want.

On Tuesday, I got overzealous with a ginormous zit on my cheek, and gave myself a bruise big enough that people asked me if I was okay.

On Wednesday, James oveslept, which caused me to over sleep, which just wasn't a good thing.

On Thursday, I got dressed in the dark and didn't really look at myself before I left the house. About an hour into preschool I realized that I was wearing a shirt that had mysteriously developed so many stains and holes that the homeless guy living in downtown Albany would have been embarrassed to be seen in it.

Spring Break (which starts tomorrow at 1:15 PM) cannot get here soon enough.

Things That Will Be Done Today Come Hell Or Highwater

Isabella is home sick today (Sinus infection, beginning of strep, but we caught it super early so she's not too miserable. Only the fact that she hasn't been on the antibiotic for 24 hours yet kept her from school) and I AM DETERMINED to get some things done around here before I seriously have a nervous breakdown.

(I think the straw that broke the camel's back was the color we painted the bathroom last night. The color itself was fine, but combined with our tub, toilet, fixtures, etc it made the bathroom look like a cheap motel bathroom which, believe it or not, was NOT the look we were going for.)

TO DO LIST
1. Take the things out of the laundry room which need to go to the shed
2. Sweep laundry room floor; shake out rugs
3. Organize shelf above the washer and dryer
4. Repaint bathroom a soothing shade of WHITE (to be done most likely when James gets home)
5. Spray a thick layer of Lysol all over the house to prevent further spread of germs
6. Clean Pampered Chef Muffin Pan (Anyone who uses the PC baking stones knows what a pain they can be to clean sometimes! But the muffins are always perfectly cooked so I put up with cleaning the stupid pan.)

I will return and report.
*salutes*

You have GOT to be KIDDING ME!!

Just let me tell you how much I hate people right now.

Seriously.

Hate.

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE.

And you thought this blog was going to be rainbows and unicorns all the time.

And with that, I am about to take myself off to the church where I will have a visit with my visiting teachers and then proceed to Enrichment.

My ward is SO LUCKY to have me.

Giving Thanks

I am so, so, SO very thankful that today was the last day of school for the week. I'm not sure I could have made it another day.

I am also very thankful that I am done with my Thanksgiving shopping, because if I had to spend ONE MORE SECOND in a grocery store-type place I'm pretty sure I would kill someone.

I am very thankful that my husband and children are coming home tonight, because it's no fun sleeping alone. I am also thankful that I *have* husband and children, which gives me holiday options other than 1)spending it alone or 2) being the sad single spinster who gets to sleep on the floor and eat at the kid's table at her parent's house.

Last, but not least, I am thankful that Sam's had some take-and-bake pepperoni pizzas in the case, meaning I don't have to cook dinner tonight.

So Far, So Good

1. Madeline seems to be doing fine- no more throwing up after the bus incident, no fever, sore throat, upset stomach, etc. So I think we can rule out stomach virus. We started back on the antibiotic last night, so we'll see if anything happens with that. *FINGERS CROSSED*

2. The weather? GORGEOUS

3. We've entered into the most fun, but also the most stressful, time period of the preschool year. It starts a few days before Halloween and ends somewhere around January 20th. With the holidays approaching, there's a ton of fun activities to do. But I think some parents forget that little children DO NOT need to be out a every party/fair/church activity/get together until late at night, nor do they need to eat absolutely every piece of candy/cake/pie/goody given to them.

In the past week in Albany we've had Halloween, huge Fall Festivals, church revivals, football games and the fair. And this is only the beginning! I'd love to send a note home to some of the preschool parents saying "DO NOT EXPECT A GOOD BEHAVIOR REPORT ABOUT YOUR LITTLE DARLING IF THEY'VE BEEN HOPPED UP ON SUGAR AND OPERATINGON FIVE HOURS OF SLEEP! SHOW SOME COMMON SENSE, PEOPLE!!!!". ;)

4. The girls are off to Tifton tonight for Caitlin's birthday. James is going to pick them up after work tomorrow, while I go to a wedding. Mmmm...wedding cake!

5. I'm VERY EXCITED to be out of school Monday and Friday.

Modern Guilt

Things I Should Be Doing Instead Of Thinking Of Things To Blog About:

1. Working on lesson plans for next month
2. Taking a nap
3. Vaccumming (or is it vaccuming??)
4. Enjoying the beautiful weather outside

But as you can see, I'm doing NONE of those things. This week is going to kill me, I just know it. I hate being this busy, especially since it will be dark by 6:30! I want to be at home, in my jammies!

/whinging

Monday- Last football game for the girls- YAY!
Tuesday- Doctor's appointment for Madeline; Team party for the girls' cheerleading squad; staying up late to watch election returns
Wednesday- James had YM, the girls have Activity Night
Thursday- Award Banquet for cheerleading squad
Friday- NOTHING YET!!
Saturday- We have a wedding to attend
Sunday- Primary Program at church, where I will get wrestle with 7 Sunbeams for three hours straight! :\

I really should go take a nap.

Feel sorry for me

I had a bad day. Why, do you ask? Was it

- The upset stomach that started at 1:30 am that necessitated me trying (emphasis on trying) to sleep upright in the bed in hopes the heartburn/indegestion wouldn't kill me?

- The MAJOR traffic jam in Leesburg this morning that made me get to preschool 15 minutes late even though we'd left our house 15 minutes early? (for the record, Leesburg has two traffic lights. TWO. The traffic was backed up at every major intersection for at least 1/2 a mile. There was no discernable reason for the backup.)?

- One of my preschool kids throwing up all over the classroom ten minutes after she walked in to school?

- Having the water cut off at the preschool (IN EVERY SINGLE BATHROOM- no flushing toilets, no running water, no water fountains- it was like a third world country up in there!) at 10 AM because new toilets were supposedly being installed (even though there were no workman anywhere in the building)?

- Having one of my kids be the last to leave (1:15 ish) on a day I needed to leave early, because I had to get up to Leesburg to pick up Madeline at school and then *back* down to Albany by 2:00 for an orthodontist's appointment? (Lessburg is about 15 miles north of Albany.)?

Just pick one or two- it'd be enough to make anyone cry! ;) I'll be spending the rest of the day in bed, hiding from the world.

Fool me once...

This post could also be titled "I AM SUCH AN IDIOT!!"

Violet?? Our new kitten? The one at the vet right now? Yeah, she isn't so much a girl as she is a BOY.

I absolutely CANNOT believe that this happened to us AGAIN. Why do I keep on believing people when they say, "We took this kitten to the vet and it's a female!" What is it about our house that makes (supposed) female kittens spontaneously turn into males???

*shakes head*
*sighs*

Well, at least it's cheaper to neuter than spay.
