Every so often I find myself surfing around Goodreads, just to see what total strangers are reading. Some people keep their profiles, and therefore their bookshelves, private (like me- I went private after the girls got their own profiles, and I didn't want people to link to their sites from mine), but others keep everything public.
It's pretty fascinating actually, to see what kind of things people are reading/have read/want to read. Like this one lady I just came across. She had a good mixture of chick lit, thrillers, children's/YA, self-help and recent bestsellers. She also had at least a dozen or so books dealing with addictions; food and alcohol mainly. It'd be really easy to make some snap judgments about her, right?
So that leads me to wonder what judgments a total stranger would make about me, based solely on my list of books. Personally, I think it would show that I am a well-read, eclectic person with a keen sense of humor. ;)
So here's a montage of 200 books I have listed over at Goodreads. What do you think it says about me?
Note: I'll make my profile public for a few days. If you click on a book, it will take you to my Goodreads review.

Your book list tells me you are a much better manager of your time than I.
WOW! My eyes lost focus for a second.
Do you have books you liked and disliked or just favorites?
Do you rate your books on Goodreads?
I need a place I can find good recommendations. I'm sick of sticking with a book that NEVER gets good. What a waste of time!
I like your variety.
You make me so jealous to have made that time to read that many books!!! I love reading but never seem to have the time to do so. I know it's really making the time to do so.
I think your list says that you are a well-rounded person who is not afraid to try a variety of reading genres and would be able to carry on a conversation with any person of any station about most anything.
You go girl! (Now since we are moving to Wyoming, I think you should find some exciting book dealing with the wild, wild west and cowboys).
It shows me you had a mother who knew what was important in life...hiding from friends and family, escaping to non-existent places, living vicariously through others peoples experiences, seeking passion, etc. Really though, I am proud of the fact you are carrying on something my mother taught me. Now if only I could break the tv habit. Darn DVR
Beckie- you can rate and/or write a review of any book you add to your profile. Most of the books I've read this year I've left a (somewhat) in depth review in addition to giving them 1-5 stars. For the books I've read in the past I mainly just star them, unless I have time to add a review.
I love Goodreads. For me, the best part is that is automatically generates a feed of what your friends are reading, so that's a great way to get an idea of what to read.
Aunt Carol- You should read Rapunzel's Revenge. It's a re-telling of Rapunzel with a wild west twist! It's written by Shannon Hale. It's written in the graphic novel format, so it won't take you long to read.
Mom- hahahahahaha! It really is about being anti-social, isn't it? Well that and the fact I don't have any other hobbies. :P
